The Polar Hotel is a modern, lodge-style hotel in Longyearbyen, two kilometres from Svalbard Museum and 1,333 kilometres from the North Pole. The 92 guestrooms, over two floors, have neutral decor, bright fabrics and functional furnishings. All offer satellite television, complimentary wireless and dial-up Internet access, desks, direct-dial phones, minibars, refrigerators and hair dryers. The hotel's Brasseri Nansen features panoramic views across the fjord, and serves international dishes and local specialities, such as seal, grouse, char and reindeer, as well as themed buffets.
